Even though construction has started, funds are still needed. For the past few years a Celebration Bake Sale has been held. This year it is hoped with added effort & support in our Community, that we can make this year's Bake Sale bigger & better than ever. We hope you will support this worthwhile project. The Triple A's (9-10) beat Fort Mcleod on Tues. The Majors (11-12) beat Lethbridge Norcrest on Tues. On Sat. they defeated Lethbridge Southwest. The Senior (14-15) lost their 1st game, but beat Lethbridge South West. This week Majors play in Magrath, Tues., the Triple A's play here on Thurs. Library News: Our Summer Reading Program "Book World" has gotten off to an excellent start with 72 children enrolled. Our 1st activity was well attended. A special thank you to Heather Harris & Darlene Beres for their help. Also Deanna Bingley taught the children how to make a spear with string. She has consented to teach the kids a new design with string each week. Thank you for your help Deanna. Our thanks to the Co-op who have generously offered to lend us their flatbed for the parade. Former Magrath resident Mrs. Elva Passey, wife of the late Ace (Cap) Passey, passed away July 4/95 at Rexburg, Id. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in November. Left to mourn are her children: Earl (Marion) Shelton of Lewiston, Mont; Blair (Lillian) Passey of Golden BC; Kay & Jay (Carla) Passey of Rigby Id.; also her sister Bertha Bennett, Magrath, as well as numerous grandchildren, nephews & nieces. The "Charity Classic 95" Golf Day as a fund raiser was a great success as entry fees raised around $800 and the auction afterwards returned another $1700, for a total of $2500. All teams fared well, with the highlight going to the Under 11 co-ed team that came home with the bronze medals. To capture the bronze, Magrath defeated Lethbridge County 2-1, squeeked by Brooks 3-1 in an exciting overtime shootout & came up with a supreme team effort in defeating Raymond 4-1 in the Bronze final. Jamey Holt lead Magrath with goals in every game, including 3 in the final. The medal holders are: Lauren Balderson,Jonathan Bennett, Easton Chipman, Ryan Clark, Chase Dahl, Jesse Harker, Brett Harris, Mandy Harris, Adam Heath, Jamey Holt,Jillene Hudson, James Perry, Aaron Ragan, Melissa Schneyder, Allan Tollestrup, Bonnie Wilde & coach Bill Harris. The Magrath Under 8 mini-soccer team also made a stalwart effort & after a 2 goal performance by Cole Barnett in a 3-1 victory over Taber, the 'Mini-Zeniths' bowed out to 2 strong Lethbridge teams.
