' Sherwin, a grade 12 student here, was able to correctly answer the mathmatical problem asked of him by the Company ’ officials in the telephone conversation. The ceremony was performed in the Alberta Temple with Pres, Heber i/htkin officiating at the ceremony. A wedding luncheon was enjoyed qt 1 o’clock in the Banquet Room of the Assembly Hall with Mrs. Jill Harker in charge of the meal. Mr¿ Doran Nelson of Edmonton, brother of the groom gave a toast to the bride to which the groom responded, Mrs. Idabelle Bohnet entertained with wedding selections on the piano. A wedding reception washeld at the Assembly Hall in the evening. In the ’ receiving line with the bride and groom were the bride’s grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Harker; the bride’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Harker and the groom’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Nelson. Mr. Ford Nelson, brother of the groom acted as Best Man. Matron of Honor was Mrs. Marjorie Koenanof Lethbridge and Miss Mae Yamamoto was bridesmaid. Little misses Joy and Susan Harker, sisters of the bride were Flower Girls. The bride looked lovely in a beautiful bouffant gown of white lace over satin and carried a bouquet of pink and vhite carnations. The bridal attendants wore matching frocks of lime green satin. Mrs. Diana Bourne Holzeworth was in charge of the guest book. Hostesses for the evening were Misses Jane Sabey and Carol Wocknitz. The Gift Table was supervised by Misses Ruth Steele, Anne Leishman, Shirley Gibb, Darlene Whitehead and Roberta DeMeester of Lethbridge. Refreshments were under the direction of Mrs. Betty Briggs and Assistants. Mesdames Margaret Leishman and Bessie Cook presided at the punch bowl. The wedding cake was passed by Iynn Harker, Lance Harker and Virginia Bennett. P. Ellison farm. Mr. Ellison is grand­father to Mr, Heed Ellison, manager of Ellison Milling and Elevator Co., Lethbridge. Mr. Ellison with shovel in hand was some distance from the road. He left the shovel by the fence. The driver of the car, Mr. David Layton suggested he had better bring the shovel along. "No one will steal a shovel," said Mr. Ellison. The River, 10 miles west of town, across the Blood Reserve is a day and night crossing. We have had two saddles stolen and pitch forks galore but we can’t recall ever a shovel missing. Indians don’t have any use for shovels or hoes. They could irrigate thousands of acres but they don’t and a garden is out of the question. The Bloods like many of their neighbors remark, "It is cheaper to buy your vegetables than to raise them." ' Today most Indians look forward to the old age pension, the family allowance, interest and treaty money. Think of the hundreds of Indian boys and Whites that idle away their time during the spring and summer months that could spend their hours in a flower or vegetable garden. Every family should have a garden for the boys’ sake. Think what a pleasure it is to contribute something to your own enjoyment and livelihood* ' Indian boys are bums until they are big enough to use a pitch fork. The haying season lasts at most a couple of months. Mrs. Nyal Fletcher attended the funeral of her nephew Neil, son of her sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Dale Anderson in Salt Lake City, last week. . The June meeting of the Del Bonita 4-H Beef Club was held the evening of June 13th. The main topic under discussion was the next project an insurance scheme. It was decided and agreed upon by all that the club should have individual insurance. Suggestions were given as to where the club members would like to travel on their annual trip. On Wednesday evening they defeated Del Bonita in a hard fought game by the score of 9—8. . The Magrath team who now have 6 wins and 1 loss with one game remaining is composed of: Allan Clifton, Bryan Sheer, Dallas Rarick, Orton Minor Bruce Gorham, Wes Balderson, Neil Austin, Richard Blumell, Wayne Miller and Tommy Hillmer. Coaches are Ted Austin and Rev. Jim Elliott. Greg, Wolsey, Durant James and Ricky Neilson, due to illnesses, were not able to finish out the season with the team.
