The Magrath Rockets ended their current I.B.L. campaign in undisputed possession of the first place by downing the Iethbridge Green Acres 75-68, Sat. night on the local court. Rockets now play the last place Cardston Maple Leafs in the best of three semi-final series, with Raymond tackling the Green Acres. Acres held command most of the way under the guidance of Newton and Lilja. The half time score stood 40-39 in favor of Lethbridge, who continued to set the pace for the next ten minutes. Then the Rockets, under the heads-up ball playing of Tyler Alston who collected 20 points and Karren and Rice who potted 19 and 15 points respectively, took over. Blair Sabey was next in line with 10, Walt Harris topped the losers with 16 points, followed closely by Don Newton with 15. The funeral will be held in Magrath on Monday Feb. 14th. from the 1st. Ward Chapel. Mrs. Turner was Magrath's first pioneer woman. ODD DISHES ON S'LE IN THE HARDWARE. Hamp said he came over to buy a leg of lamb."I am tired eating chicken" he said. Our meat market not only sell lamb, but choice red label beef, two year olds, grain fed in our own feed lots. At the meat counter you can buy with confidence. A VALENTINE BASKET DANCE will be held Sat. Eeb. 12th.from 6 to 8 o-clock at the Assembly Hall for all children 8 to 12 years. Girls bring a Valentine Basket, lunch and boys bring a Valentine. There will be pop to sell to the boys for lunch. A Prize will be given for the prettiest basket.
