This article aims to demonstrate, in Spinoza’s Ethics, the fundamental role of power for human freedom. We will explicit how is it possible that man becomes free even though mode of Substance (God) and under bondage of passions. Therefore, concluding that the power of the human mind, driven by reason, is able to know the causes and passions properly, bringing us freedom.Este artigo tem como objetivo, demonstrar, na Ética de Spinoza, o papel fundamental da potência para a liberdade humana. Explicitaremos como é possível que o homem torna-se livre mesmo sendo modo da Substância (Deus) e sujeito à servidão das paixões.
