Bastien Himel later declared that this was being done without his knowledge. No. 1228 SLAVE SALE. Marie Connard, Widow Jean-Louis Rixner, declared that 4-26-94 she sold a slave named Rose (34), native of the colony, to Francois Fatine for 500 piastres. Witnesses: Paul Toups and Louis Bou- teiller. No. 1229 INVENTORY OF THE BELONGINGS OF PIERRE BAUDOIN BEFORE HIS SECOND 4- 30-94 MARRIAGE. Pierre Baudoin summoned Masicot to his residence in order to inventory the community property existing between him- self and his first wife, Marguerite Toups, so that he might set- tle with his children: Marguerite (14), Rosalie (12), Alphonse (10), Charles (8), Justine (6) and Marie (4). Inventory was taken by Antoine St.-Amand and Michel Frilloux. Among the items inventoried was a farm 4 arpents wide by the customary depth, located on the left bank of the river ascending about 22.5 miles above New Orleans, bounded on one side by the property of Pierre Vieux and on the other by that of Alexandre Harang. Also inventoried was an old house belonging to the community located on the property of François Baudoin. Done in the presence of the appraisers and Paul Toups, brother of Marguerite Toups. The community owed debts to: Alexandre Harang, Widow Roussel, Malvaux. The inventory and appraisal was accepted by Baudoin No. 1230 MANUMISSION. Louis-Augustin Meuillon declared, in the presence 5- 7-94 of Paul Toups and Andre Labranche, that he granted freedom to two slaves: Hypolite (7) and Seraphine (5) , both natives of the colony, children of his slave Appolone (who is now dead). No. 1231 LOST DOCUMENT. Charles-Joseph Lange, a free Negro, declared, 5-29-94 in the presence of Paul Toups and Louis Bouteiller, that he received a promisary note from Noel Perret, dated March 14, 1793 in the amount of 100 piastres payable in December of the same year. Lange, however, lost the note and Perret refused pay- ment without return of the note or bond posted for it. For that reason, Lange named Gabriel Loriot as his bondsman. No. 1232 SALE OF MANUMISSION. Marie Clause, Widow Michel Pinatelle, de- 5-23-94 clared before Paul Toups and Louis Bouteiller,that she sold freedom to her slave Zindor for 410 piastres. No. 1233 PARTITION. Partition of the two communities of the late Jean- 5-8-94 Baptiste Chesnier (Chenier) existing between him and his first wife, Catherine Francoeur, and between him and his second wife, Marguerite Dorvin. By his first wife he had two sons, Jean- Baptiste fils and Joseph. By his second wife, Marguerite Dorvin, Chenier had one son, Pierre. At the time of Jean-Baptiste Chenier's death, his son Joseph was also dead. The partition was made in the presence of Antoine St.-Amand and Louis Bou- teiller. Paul Toups acted for Marguerite Dorvin (Widow Chesnier), and Louis Loisel acted for Jean-Baptiste Chesnier
