St Charles Original Acts, 1772 15 Receipt, June, 7, 1774. Bellile remits to Dusieau, tutor of Nanette Francoeur, in the presence of Bore, the sum of 318 livres owed her from her mother's succession. Receipt, Feb. 1, 1774. Bellile remite to Jean-Baptiste Chenie, in the presence of Brounne, the sum of 318 livres owed his wife from her mother's succession. Acknowledgement, date missing. Bellile acknowledges that he holds 318 livres for Janot Francoeur due her from her mother's succession, but that DeClouette holds a bill, dated Jan. 1, 1769, for a certain amount and another bill owed to Catherine Lepine, Widow Lambert. Bellile divides the amount among them. Inventory, Oct. 26, 1772. Upon learning of the death of Marie, widow of the late Joseph Francoeur, Bellile went to the house of Jean-Baptiste Chenier, son-in-law of the decedent, to order an inventory of her belongings to be taken. Inventory taken by Jacques Desrosier and Pierre Rielloux in the presence of Jean- Baptiste Chenier and his wife, Catherine Francoeur. Debts are owed to the decedent by Trepagnier. There is a receipt signed by Menard and several other items the names on which are illegible. The proceeds of the succession sale are to be divided among the heirs, namely: Jeannot Francoeur (his mother's heir), Marie-Jeanne, wife of La Jeanvrille; Agnes, wife of La Rochelle; Marianne, wife, of Chauvin; Angelique, wife of Turjon; Suzanne, wife of Chevalier Dumont Harvaux; Catherine, wife of Chenier; and Nanette, all heirs of Joseph and Marie Francoeur. Receipt, April 30, 1774. Jean-Baptiste Cavelier acknowledges re- ceipt from Janot Francoeur of 700 livres on a bill Francoeur owes. Receipt, undated. Louis Lambert, acting for his mother (Catherine Lepine, widow of Louis Lambert), acknowledges receipt from Janot Francoeur of 255 livres due on a note held by Madame Lambert. Receipt, April 30, 1774. Louis Lambert, acting for his mother, ac- knowledges receipt from François Francoeur 158 livres on a debt that Francoeur pere owed to Madame Lambert. Acknowledgement, Jan. 23, 1774, Bellile remits to DeClouet, in the presence of Bore and Cavalier 318 livres for Marianne Francoeur, wife of Chauvin, the sum due her from the succession of her mother. Bellile remits to Jean Jaulain dit La Rochelle, resident of Illinois, in the presence of Jean-Baptiste Chemiez, 318 livres due his wife, Agnes Francoeur, from the success- ion of her mother.
