International Spread of Lithuanian Literature: Translations into English and Spanish (1990–2015) The main focus of this work is to investigate Lithuanian fiction’ translations into English and Spanish languages from 1990 to 2015: their quantity, dynamics and the change of subjects. According to statistics of translations made to English and Spanish language, to English language have been translated 105 books and to Spanish language – 15. Investigation of Lithuanian fiction’ translations to English is divided to four periods: from 1990 to 1997, from 1998 to 2001, from 2002 to 2011 and from 2002 to 2015. These periods reveals different tendencies of quantity and genres of Lithuanian fiction chosen to translate. Translations to Spanish language of Lithuanian fiction are not divided to periods because of small quantity of translated literature. In conclusion, after the restoration of independence Lithuanian fiction suffered different periods: on the first decade quantities of translations were low, the main subject of translated literature was historical experience of the nation. Later, due to the active participation in international book fairs publishing, especially of poetry, increased. In recent years by 2015, publishing of Lithuanian fiction decreased but at this time were translated books established as the best of these years. The analysis of Lithuanian fiction translated to Spanish language was established that quantity of translations is very low but with the efforts of professional and competent translators the best and the most valuable texts of Lithuanian fiction are translated
