تأثير الجفاف على الثروة الحيوانية في الصومال: دراسة حالة منطقة هرجيسا في شمال الصومال خلال الفترة من 2011م – 2013م

The study addresses the impact of drought on livestock in the north of Somalia (Hargeisa area) and the objective of the study is to know the size of the losses in the livestock area of study by the recurrence of drought and its impact on economic and social life of the region's population. The approach taken in the study is a case study, as the study is based on the collection of information on secondary information from books, periodicals and reports related to the topic. The study found that the prolonged droughts of the region affected the livestock, which represent the backbone of the economy of the region, affecting the population; it was hit large numbers of them in search of new sources of income and a better life. The study recommends that the State pays more attention to the livestock sector to support the national economy and the stability of those affected. The study also recommended that more attention is given to the vegetation and o forbid its removal and the introduction of alternative energy for livestock development
