This investigation had the objective of exploring the current relationship between the emotional intelligence and the coexistence in the school among the children of the second grade of elementary school at a local public institution. A qualitative, hermeneutic-interpretative study was made through several semi-structured interviews and fifteen participant observation sessions involving five teachers, fifteen parents, and fifteen students. Their information was analyzed and triangulated according to Strauss & Corbin’s (2002) Grounded Theory. Results are displayed from three analysis categories: 1) emotion expression: family vs. school, 2) adult roles: mediate or fix the conflict?
