A study on the tastes and preferences of consumers was done in order to give elements to the production of varieties of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) with the highest demand in the market and, as consequence, the inventor reduction. It assumes a differentiated consumption by the factors and characteristics considered by consumers when choosing the type, variety, presentation or trademark of their preference; this led to consumer trends towards products with higher added value obtained through the packing of grain beans and obtaining industrial products more convenient.
