The aim of the paper is to underline the potentialities of the cultural heritage in the enhancement of the intercultural dialogue. The focus is on role that the archaeological remains along the North-East frontiers of the Late-Roman and Byzantine Empire can offer to establish common way to access to the cultural heritage. The Late Roman and Byzantine Empire contributed to the fusion, also along the military frontiers, of the different cultures, “romans” and “barbarians”, of the European regions. Due to this fact, the cultural heritage witnesses can give, nowadays, the instruments to enhance common safeguarding behaviour
