Identification of the bearer: Gerolamo Priuli, doge of Venice (1559-1567)Historical Notice: Venitian patrician family, including three doges of Venice (16th and 17th c.) and one duke of Crete (14th c.). This particular coat-of-arms was placed on the walls of Mylopotamo, perhaps during works of fortification carried out in 1565.
