Identification of the bearer: Pietro Civran, Venetian counselor of Chania (1551-1554)Historical Notice: Venetian patrician family, including one duke of Crete (15th c.). This particular coat-of-arms, is to be found on a marble spring that used to be at Santrivani, and now stands in the yard of the old Catholic Monastery of Agios Frangiskos (actually housing the Archeological Museum). It belongs to Pietro Civran, Venetian counselor of of Chania in the years 1551-1554, when the construction of the aqueduct of the city took place.
