The funerary pillars in south-west Gaul (mainly in the Civitas Ausciorum) make an original group. We are in presence of large mausolea, built with opus vittatum, and often included in a burial enclosure. Most of them, isolated in the countryside, can be linked with rural estates, villae, and some of them with little cemeteries.Les piles funéraires du sud-ouest de la Gaule (surtout cité des Auscii) constitue un ensemble original.
