<p>Numbers represent the proportion of mitotic cells in each compartment of the developing somatosensory cortex that are Tbr2+. Cells were identified through Tbr2 immunoreactivity in a minimum of three 200 µm radial units from each age in each species. Mitoses were identified with 4A4 immunoreactivity or by condensed chromatin in DAPI stained tissue. Numbers in parentheses indicate the number of Tbr2+ mitotic cells counted in each compartment from each age in each species.
