Macrophage engulfment of wildtype and glycosylation mutants of <i>C. albicans</i>.

<p><a href="http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1002578#ppat-1002578-g004" target="_blank">Figures 4A, B, C and D</a> show the time taken for J774.1 macrophages to ingest live wildtype (n = 6), <i>mnt1</i>Δ<i>mnt2</i>Δ (n = 6), <i>mns1</i>Δ (n = 3) and <i>mnn4</i>Δ (n = 3) strains following initial cell-cell contact verses the percentage of uptake events. The rate of engulfment of all glycosylation mutant strains (<a href="http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1002578#ppat-1002578-g004" target="_blank">Figures 4B–D</a>) was significantly slower than that of wildtype <i>C. albicans</i> (<a href="http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.ppat.1002578#ppat-1002578-g004" target="_blank">Figure 4A</a>).
