Activation of MAPKs contributes to the replication of MVA in DUSP1 KO MEFs.

<p><b>A</b>) DUSP1 WT and KO cells were mock-infected or infected with either WR, MVA or NYVAC at 5 PFU/cell. Samples were collected at 0.25, 0.5. 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours post-infection and 50 µg of total protein was analyzed by Western-blot using specific antibodies against P-ERK, ERK, P-JNK, JNK or tubulin. <b>B</b>) DUSP1 WT and KO cells were infected with MVA at 0.01 PFU/cell and were mock-treated or treated with either ERK inhibitor UO126 (10 µM/30 min) or p38MAPK inhibitor SB203580 (5 µM/1 h) at 0, 1 or 3 hpi. All samples were collected at 24 hpi and titrated in DF-1 cells by immunostaining plaque assay. Values shown are representative from two independent experiments performed.
