Causes and consequences of the death of Wenceslas III, the last king of Přemyslid dynasty

This work deals especially with a question of causes of death of the last king of the dynasty of Czech Přemyslids, Wenceslas III. It deals with the most important milestones of rule of this sovereign, that preceded this act, and could be the reasons for the murder in Olomouc, in this way, ending four centuries of ruling Přemyslite tradition. Attention is also drawn to the character of the young king, to his relationship with Czech, Polish and Hungarian nobility and elite, with his sympathizers and opponents. Next the work points to characters of possible culprits involved in the alleged plot against the king. Subsequently, the work proceeds to the consequences of Olomouc murder. Disputes over the Czech throne, and the subsequent onset of the Luxembourg dynasty. The work is based on the relationship between written sources and the author's thoughts of the current literature. This work creates a space for own interpretation and self-reflection of one of the most important and breakthrough milestone of a history of Czech kingdom, which changed the form of Czech state. That prepared the way for coming of the great sovereign and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from Přemyslite bloodline, Charles IV
