The thesis aims to reconstruct the life and political influence of Elizabeth and how they changed after the death of her husband, Charles IV. The thesis will start before 1363, when the negotiations about Charles IV's fourth wedding began. The political motives of this marriage and its consequences will be described. The life of the royal couple until Charles IV's death in 1378 will then be briefly treated. The following part of the study will map in detail the relationships between Elizabeth and her sons and among the brothers themselves, specifically after Wenceslas IV' captivity. The next part will describe the political influence of Elizabeth after her husband's death. Her court as Queen widow will be also described in adequate extent
