The purpose of the paper "Valentín García Yebra and his Contribution to Translation Studies" is to provide an overall analysis of García Yebra's works and their reception in Spanish press and magazines specialized on translation. Part of the paper is dedicated to the summary of García Yebra's predecessors on this field, to his biography and his career as a professional translator. But the major emphasis rests upon the analysis of his thoughts on theory, critique and history of translation. As a part of the analysis, we provide a summary of all the books in question.
