Lifelong learning is most often mentioned in relation to adult education, which gives a wrong impression that lifelong learning starts as late as in the adulthood. But what is really important is the continuity of education throughout the formal education system, which is later continued during all life stages of a person. Elementary school plays an important role in stimulating one's lifelong learning and is manifested in the content of the educational process. Learners should not be subordinated by this content but attracted by it to such a degree that they feel the need for learning.
