Introduction: Magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a new resonance technique that allows the analysis of methabolic components of brain lesions. This methabolic spectrum is characteristic of each type of tumor. Objetives: The principal objetive is setting a high reliability margin of the spectroscopy. Method: We have studied more than 100 cerebral tumors, with a double analysis: resonance spectroscopy and neuropathological microscopical analysis of the biopsy obtained from a surgical procedure. Results: We have made a comparative study of each type of lesion, grouping in high grade tumor, low grade tumor, benign lesions and no tumoral lesions. We have compared the results with statistical tests and also made an extensive bibliography ...
