Report 209 New Influenza Cases

• While yesterday’s influenza reports to the city health office established a record for one day, all of the cases reported are not believed to have developed during the day• Dr. John B. Anderson, City Health Officer mailed a circular to all physicians of the city urging their cooperation in handling the influenza outbreak. These circulars did not reach doctors until Monday and some not until yesterday (Tuesday)• The large increase in yesterday afternoon tended to upset calculations and caused a doubt to arise as to whether the peak of the epidemic has been reached• Only one case of Spanish influenza developed yesterday in the Gonzaga University Student’s Army Training Corps. Ten of the students are ill with pneumonia and at least three of them are in a critical condition• 3 deaths have occurred at the emergency hospital• The case against Washington Water Power company for violating the order against carrying people on its cars in excess of seating capacity was continued by agreement yesterday in police courtNewspaper article
