Análise das tecnologias utilizadas na cultura do milho na Lezíria de Vila Franca de Xira. Estudo de caso.

Mestrado em Engenharia Agronómica - Instituto Superior de AgronomiaThe present dissertation focus all the used technologies and their efficiency at corn crop in the Lezíria of Vila Franca de Xira, targeting costs reduction due to the extinction of EU economical support from 2013 to this crop.Focusing all stages during production process; soil preparation; fertilization and sowing, crop protection and irrigation. Prior conclusions, an economical study was developed in order to compare both technologies: direct sow and conventional sow. This study allow us to conclude that the Leziria of Vila Franca de Xira has all the ecological needs to offer height corn crop productions. Concerning the production process coordinated by the “Vila Franca de Xira, Irrigation Association”, only irrigation achieves efficiency, both fertilization and weed control had excessive application of fertilizers and phytopharmaceuticals
