Putz! Por que as interjeições são diferentes? Problemas formais na Morfologia e na Fonologia

This paper investigates the part of speech traditionally known as “interjections”, by looking into their main phonic, structural, and meaningful properties. Firstly, we show how and why interjections constitute a genuine linguistic object and then we discuss what their main aspects are and what kind of issue they rise to a morphologic and syntactic formalization. Later, we discuss their phonic properties and argue that much of the view that interjections are somehow “phonological anomalous” comes from remarks on orthography rather than on their phonic constituency. Finally, based on Distributed Morphology (HALLE; MARANTZ, 1993, 1994), we prefigure a formal treatment for some of the rised issues and, later, we highlight those remaining open for further research.     O presente trabalho investiga a classe de palavras referida pela Gramática Tradicional como “interjeições”, debruçando-se sobre suas principais propriedades fônicas, estruturais e de significado. Primeiramente, mostramos como e por que interjeições constituem um objeto linguístico formal legítimo e, em seguida, quais são suas principais características bem como que tipo de problema colocam para uma formalização morfológica e sintática. Posteriormente, discutimos suas propriedades fônicas e argumentamos que muito da visão de “anomalia fonológica” das interjeições é fruto de observações sobre a palavra ortográfica e não sobre sua composição sonora. Por fim, ancorados na Morfologia Distribuída (HALLE; MARANTZ, 1993, 1994), nós instanciamos um tratamento formal para alguns dos problemas levantados e, na sequência, sinalizamos aqueles que permanecem em aberto, aguardando trabalhos futuros
