Studies on Penaeus orientalis KISHINOUYE―III Structure of Ovary and Mechanism of Ovulation

The ovary extends from the cephalothorax to the telson on the back of an individual prawn. At the cephalothorax, the ovary is broader and bears 7 lateral projections on either side, and the 6th and 7th projections are divided into the inner and outer projections. Out of the 6th outer projections come the oviducts. Through the ovary runs the ovarian cavity, upon which the ovarian bursae of connective tissues attach in clusters. An ovarian bursa contains 3-5 egg pouches, and the ovarian eggs which are attaching to the inner walls of the pouches grow. The number of eggs in one pouch decreases along with the growth and becomes 5-15 at maturity. In the ovary, blood vessels are distributed, and the ovarian blood vessels at the cephalothorax come out of the ovary and communicate with various organs. Among them, the communication with the liver is the largest in structure. The maturation of the ovary was classified according to the degree represented by most of the ovarian eggs. As for ovulation, mature eggs are first isolated to the center of the egg pouch by many immature eggs which are continuously developing on the germinal epidermis of the pouch, and suddenly pushed out to the ovarian cavity. Secondly, the mature eggs in the ovarian cavity are pressed by many immature eggs which are developing on the walls of ovarian cavity. The mature eggs in the oviduct are also pressed by the development of immature eggs and delivered out of the genital pore.コウラエビの排卵について卵巣の基本的な構造からその排卵上の機構について検討した. 卵巣は背面にあって左右同形であり頭胸部から尾部にわたっている.頭胸部の卵巣は巾広くその縁か左右とも7枝にわかれており後方の2枚はさらに内・外枝にわかれている.第6枝の外枝からは輸卵管がでている. 卵巣内には卵巣腔がはしっておりこれにむかって結合組織性の卵巣嚢が房状にならんでいる.胴部の卵巣断面においてはこの卵巣嚢は6～8箇であるが各卵巣嚢内にはさらに卵嚢か3～5箇存在している.また卵嚢中にはその壁にそって卵巣卵が成長しているが卵の成長が進むにつれて次第にその数は減し熟卵期には5～15箇となる. 卵巣卵は成長のための栄養を直接卵嚢の組織を経由して受けているがこの組織へは卵巣腔壁を通る同様血管や独立して卵巣内に分布している血管を経由して供給されている.頭胸部における卵巣内の血管は外に出て色々な器官と連絡しているが肝臓との連絡か構造上最も大きい.また,卵巣腔壁をはしる洞様血管は排卵後極端に拡大しているので排卵期にはこの血管を通して卵巣組織へ盛んに供給されているものがあるといえる. 卵巣の成熟については卵巣卵か同時発生型に近い発生型を示しているので卵巣内を占める卵巣卵の分類に従って分類した. 排卵機構については排卵しなかった卵巣と排卵しつつある卵巣とを比較した.この結果卵嚢から卵巣腔へ熟卵を排出するのは卵嚢壁において発生する幼若卵てあることがわかった.また,この幼若卵は大量に発生し卵嚢をうめて一旦排出された卵が再び逆流することを防いでいることがわかる.また,同時に卵巣腔に集められた卵は同様に卵巣腔壁から突発的にしてかつ無数に発生する幼若卵によって圧迫され輸卵管内の同様な機能とあいまって排卵されることもわかった
