Adolescents´ motivation for sport

The diploma thesis deals with motivation of adolescents in sport. The main aim of the thesis is to find out the reasons why active adolescent members leave the cheerleading club. Another goal of the thesis is to create a model of the situation in which athletes begin to think about leaving. The theoretical part introduces adolescence, motivation and cheerleading. The practical part contains qualitative research, where the adolescents´ reasons to leave competitive cheerleading are identified and where a model of decision-making is created. A total of seven athletes who left the cheerleading club as adolescents participated in the research
