Introduction: The overweight and obese population fall within the range where they present factors that increase the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, including dyslipidemia, hypertension, insulin resistance or prediabetes, and central obesity. Objective: To analyze metabolic alterations and their relationship with body mass index.
