ЕВОЛЮЦІЯ НАУКОВИХ ПОГЛЯДІВ НА ЗАБЕЗПЕЧЕННЯ КОНКУРЕНТОСПРОМОЖНОСТІ ПРОДУКЦІЇ ТВАРИННИЦТВА

The article is devoted to forming new scientific solutions to ensure the competitiveness of livestock products in Ukraine. Based on a comparative assessment of scientific works on competitiveness at various levels of the economic systems functioning, the results have revealed the necessity for further research in the field of ensuring the competitiveness of livestock production in Ukraine at the macro- (world, international, and national level), meso- (region, industry, sub-industry), and micro-levels (union of enterprises, separate enterprise, and products). The aim of the article is a comparative assessment of scientific research on competitiveness at different levels of economic systems functioning in the context of the new approaches formation to ensure the competitiveness of livestock products in Ukraine. The article makes a comparative assessment of theoretical developments in the field of competition and competitiveness and examines the following economic theories: results in the period before capitalism; cantonists; mercantilists; physiocrats; the concept of absolute advantages by A. Smith; D. Ricardo's concept of relative advantages; Eli Heckscher and Bertil Ohlin model; socialist economic ideas; Keynesianism; A. Marshall (equilibrium theory); J. M. Clark (the theory of effective competition); J. Schumpeter (the theory of evolutionary economics); R. Alderson (theory of marketing behavior); L. von Mises; institutionalism; M. E. Porter; P.R. Krugman; G. Hamel and C. Prahalad (theory of intellectual leadership). The paper has concluded that the examined and evaluated approaches to competitiveness and competition cannot be fully used to form (ensure) the competitiveness of livestock products. There is a need to conduct further scientific research in the field of competitiveness of the livestock industry, taking into account the peculiarities of the development of the Ukrainian economic system, the Ukrainian sector of livestock products, and Ukrainian livestock producers
