Flowers in groups of 3 or 2 in the axils of scale-like, opposite, free bracts, slightly immersed in the axils; perianth 3-lobed, herbaceous, lobes connate below the middle, unequal, two of them carinate; stamen 1; stigmas 2, subulate.
