Abstract. - The Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg is an immigration area. With more than 100 000 foreign residents and more than 30 000 frontier workers you can say it's a real melting pot. This paper is going to present the demographic, the economic and the cultural impact represented by this presence. It is also developping some worrying problems posed by this phenomenon on both sides, the luxemburgish and the foreign one.Résumé. - Le Grand-Duché de Luxembourg constitue une terre d'immigration par excellence. Avec plus de 100 000 résidents étrangers et plus de 30 000 travailleurs frontaliers sur une population qui n'atteint pas 380 000 habitants, le terme de « melting pot » s'impose. Le présent papier essaie de présenter l'importance tant démographique qu'économique et culturelle de la présence étrangère au Luxembourg ainsi qu'un certain nombre de problèmes qu'elle peut poser.Gengler Claude.
