The Late Neolithic in central Languedoc (the "Saintponien" in particular) has until now mostly been identified with reserve, confused with diachronic fades and situated indistinctly in the chronological synopsis of the Languedocian Neolithic. However, this Neolithic is quite specific. It has a plentiful lithic industry, with an asymmetrical arrowhead which is the main diagnostic artefact, and a rich bone and antler industry, in a regional environment where lithic and bone industries are sometimes lacking.
