Diese Arbeit beschreibt die Entwicklung hocheffizienter, kristalliner Siliciumsolarzellen mit p-dotierter Basis. Es wurde eine industriell umsetzbare Zellstruktur entwickelt, welche die Vorteile rückseitiger Kontaktierung mit denen der Oberflächenpassivierung vereint und Metal Wrap Through Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell (MWT-PERC) genannt wird. In mehreren Entwicklungszyklen wurde die Effizienz kontinuierlich gesteigert. Der erzielte Effizienzvorteil gegenüber herkömmlichen Solarzellen beträgt 1,5% absolut bzw. 8% relativ.
