Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is an imaging technique that is used to localize biomarkers and evaluate their pharmacodynamics for various diseases. The most common isotope used for PET is fluorine-18, but it has a short half-life of 109.8 min that requires to label the target molecule as fast as possible. Moreover, common methods for 18F-radiolabelling often need anhydrous environment, strongly basic conditions and high temperatures. These conditions are not compatible with biological molecules such as peptides or nanobodies. Moreover, their purification often implies time-consuming preparative HPLC.
