Epidemiology of Illnesses in Specific Climatic and Sanitary Conditions on the Example of Troops Deployed to Military Operations and Mission

Cilj ovoga rada bio je epidemiološki opisati zarazne bolesti u različitim klimatskim i higijenskim uvjetima. Pripadnici oružanih snaga koji su upućeni u mirovne misije i operacije izloženi su borbenim i neborbenim ozljedama, ali 65-80% liječničkih intervencija je radi zaraznih bolesti. Kroz poglavlja su opisane vektorske zarazne bolesti: malarija, lišmanijaza i žuta groznica. Bolesti prenosive hranom i pićem: antraks, dječja paraliza, hepatitis A, trbušni tifus i kolera. Respiratorne bolesti tuberkuloza, gripa, meningokokni meningitis, ospice, rubeola, zaušnjaci i COVID – 19. Spolno prenosive bolesti HIV, sifilis, hepatitis B i C. Zoonoze bjesnoća, krpeljni meningoencefalitis. Tetanus te parazitne bolesti ascaris i amebijaza. Uz opis bolesti navedeni su i najčešći simptom te metode prevencije. U radu se nalaze i smjernice za obavezna i dopunska cjepiva prilikom odlaska vojnog osoblja u MM i MO. Kako bi svaka osoba upućena u inozemstvo bila maksimalno sigurna mora se pridržavati propisanih smjernica s kojima je upoznata prije odlaska.The aim of this paper was to epidemiologically describe infectious diseases in different climatic and hygienic conditions. Members of the armed forces who are sent to peacekeeping missions and operations are exposed to combat and non-combat injuries, but 65-80% of medical interventions are due to infectious diseases. Through the chapters are described vector-borne diseases: malaria, leishmaniasis and yellow fever. Food and water-borne diseases: anthrax, poliomyelitis, hepatitis A, typhoid fever and cholera. Respiratory diseases tuberculosis, influenza, meningococcal meningitis, measles, rubella, mumps and covid - 19. Sexually transmitted diseases HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C. Zoonoses rabies, tick-borne meningoencephalitis. Tetanus and parasitic diseases ascaris and amoebiasis. In addition to the description of the disease, the most common symptoms of this method of prevention are listed. The paper also contains guidelines for mandatoryand supplementary vaccines before deployment in the peacekeeping missions and operations. In order for every person sent abroad to be as safe as possible, they must adhere to the prescribed guidelines with which he was acquainted before leaving
