As políticas de asilo na Europa: implicações éticas para o Serviço Social

Abstract   Following the 2008 financial crisis and with the increase of migrants movements since 2015 the welfare policies across EU are increasingly becoming instruments for limiting mobility of migrants from outside the EU borders. In this article we focus on the implications that asylum policies have for the interventions of  social workers and the ethical dilemmas that they face. This article is the result of an exploratory work. Thus, based on the author's PhD dissertation, as well as resorting to her professional experience as a social worker, she carried out a literature review to identify a set of articles that analyse the practice of Social Work with asylum seekers and refugees and the ethical issues and challenges associated with it. The main goal of this article is to contribute to the reflection on the role of the social worker in safeguarding human rights of this population.   Keyword: Refugee, asylum seekers, social work, ethical dilemmas  Resumo   Com a crise financeira de 2008 e com o aumento dos fluxos migratórios desde 2015 as políticas de proteção social estão cada vez mais a ser transformadas em instrumentos para limitar a mobilidade dos migrantes externos à UE. Neste artigo focamo-nos nas implicações que as políticas de asilo têm para a intervenção dos assistentes sociais e os dilemas éticos que lhe são colocados. Este artigo resulta de um trabalho exploratório. Assim, partindo da tese de doutoramento da autora, bem como por recurso à sua experiência profissional de assistente social realizou a revisão da literatura por forma a identificar um conjunto de artigos que analisam a prática do Serviço Social com população requerentes de asilo e refugiados e as questões e desafios éticos a ela associados. É objetivo deste artigo contribuir para a reflexão do papel do assistente social na salvaguarda dos direitos humanos desta população.   Palavras-chave: Refugiados, requerentes de asilo, assistentes sociais, dilemas éticos. &nbsp
