Field X currently has large oil reserves around 251.67 million STBO. The Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) method is applied because it can increase the amount of oil production in field X to more than 20% of the total oil reserves. This method was tested on a laboratory scale before being applied in the field. The method can be used on a laboratory scale is by screening polymer surfactants for the EOR method based on fluid characteristics and reservoir type. The surfactants used are the synthesis of nonionic surfactants sourced from palm oils, and anionic surfactants. The polymer used was a hydrolized polyacrylamide (HPAM) polymer.
