La segregación urbana antigitana: Promoción de poblados de infravivienda en la región átabra (Galicia)

When in the second half of the 20th century the Galician urban peripheries were filled with slums, massive rehousing, although insufficient and fragmented, was applied to new absorption-neighborhoods. Roma families were relegated to later relocations and special solutions in segregative actions that make up the territorial expression of historical structural anti-Gypsyism. This article analyzes the role of public institutions in the production of these segregated sub-housing settlements that reproduce the mechanisms of coloniality applied to the territory and inhabiting. In addition, the methodological approaches applied to the study of these precarious settlements are presented, identifying the absences that we must overcome and confront, both in theoretical and practical aspects.Cuando en la segunda mitad del siglo XX las periferias urbanas gallegas se colmataron de chabolas se aplicaron realojos masivos, aunque insuficientes y fragmentados, en nuevos barrios de absorción. Las familias gitanas quedaron relegadas a realojos posteriores y a soluciones especiales en actuaciones segregativas que componen la expresión territorial del antigitanismo estructural histórico. En este artículo se analiza el papel de las instituciones públicas en la producción de estos asentamientos segregados de infravivienda que reproducen los mecanismos de colonialidad aplicados al territorio y el habitar. Además, se presentan las aproximaciones metodológicas aplicadas al estudio de estos asentamientos precarios identificando las ausencias que debemos superar y confrontar, tanto en los aspectos teóricos como prácticos
