Caracterización de los agroemprendimientos asociativos rurales en Antioquia para el fortalecimiento de la acción colectiva y el desarrollo local

A fundamental role of the different agricultural extension models is the generation of entrepreneurial processes through associative and organizational proposals among medium and small producers. Knowing how these organizations have developed allows establishing opportunities for improvement that will benefit their structure and function, strengthening their social and commercial capital. The objective of the research was to characterize rural agribusinesses through the analysis of secondary information and the collection of field data provided by managers and members of the organization to learn about their current situation and their needs for strengthening. For this purpose, a mixed approach research was used, with a predominantly qualitative and concurrent type of research. The agroenterprises were characterized through the analysis of secondary information, semi-structured interviews and focus groups, which allowed the identification of the key aspects that affect the business initiatives, seen from five categories of analysis -technical, economic, social, commercial and organizational-, which facilitated the approach to the multiple factors that revolve around these business models and their influence in the rural sector. The intervention made it possible to identify fundamental aspects in the process of consolidation of an organization, finding similarities with what is reported in the literature; it also favored the diagnosis of the territory and the social and business impact of the agroenterprise on the community, identifying the aspects that they consider relevant for the development of their self-management and sustainability capacities, and thus building a participatory tool for the identification of the real needs that involve the real actor of the agricultural extension interventions. In conclusion, the participatory proposal for the characterization of agribusinesses generated a high degree of ownership on the part of the key actors of the territory, reflecting on factors that influence their operation and making a journey from their capacities to the identification of weaknesses and opportunities. This form of intervention encourages the community not only to identify its needs, but also to become involved in the creation of proposals that mobilize its resources and strategies towards consolidation and sustainability.Un papel fundamental de los diferentes modelos de extensión agropecuaria es la generación de procesos empresariales a través de propuestas asociativas y organizacionales entre medianos y pequeños productores. Conocer cuál ha sido el desarrollo de estas organizaciones permite establecer oportunidades de mejoramiento que beneficien su estructura y función, fortaleciendo su capital social y comercial. El objetivo de la investigación fue caracterizar los agroemprendimientos rurales a través del análisis de información secundaria y la recolección de datos en campo aportados por directivos e integrantes de la organización para conocer su situación actual y sus necesidades de fortalecimiento. Para ello, se utilizó una investigación de enfoque mixto con estatus dominante cualitativo y de tipo concurrente. La caracterización de los agroemprendimientos se realizó por medio del análisis de información secundaria, entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales, que permitieron la identificación de los aspectos claves que inciden sobre las iniciativas empresariales, vistos desde cinco categorías de análisis —técnica, económica, social, comercial y organizacional—, las cuales facilitaron la aproximación a los múltiples factores que giran en torno a estos modelos de negocio y su influencia en el sector rural. La intervención permitió identificar aspectos fundamentales en el proceso de consolidación de una organización, encontrando similitudes con lo reportado en la literatura; además, favoreció el diagnóstico del territorio y el impacto social y empresarial del agroemprendimiento sobre la comunidad, identificando los aspectos que consideran relevantes para el desarrollo de sus capacidades de autogestión y sostenibilidad, y construyendo así una herramienta participativa para la identificación de las necesidades reales que involucran al actor real de las intervenciones de extensión agropecuaria. En conclusión, la propuesta participativa para la caracterización de los agroemprendimientos permitió generar un alto grado de apropiación por parte de los actores claves del territorio, autorreflexionando sobre factores que influyen en su funcionamiento y haciendo un recorrido desde sus capacidades para la identificación de debilidades y oportunidades. Esta forma de intervención favorece que la comunidad no solo identifique sus necesidades, sino que también se vincule en la creación de propuestas que movilicen sus recursos y estrategias hacia la consolidación y la sostenibilidad
