This paper aims to review women's testimonies in the rukyatul hilal according to the concept of justice and gender equality because women's testimonies are one of the issues that are often doubted about their fairness. Witnesses are an important part of the rukyatul hilal, so far the testimony of rukyat is only done by men even though not a few women take part in this activity. For feminists, the testimony of women in Islam is considered a form of injustice against women in the social sphere. This is due to the discourse related to women's testimonies. In responding to different views, there are fundamental differences in addressing the issue of women's testimony between a gender-based perspective and a purely Islamic perspective
