This research aims to determine the optimization of the duties of the Department of Transportation in controlling heavy tonnage vehicles in the city of Pekanbaru, to find out what are the inhibiting factors for optimizing the duties of the transportation agency in controlling heavy tonnage vehicles in the city of Pekanbaru. The researcher found that there were still many vehicles with heavy tonnage passing through the road at times that were prohibited to do the track and even those that were not the trajectory routes that should have been set, especially on HR roads.
