Our research, which lies mainly in the field of language didactics, focuses on the question of the acquisition of vocabulary in a foreign / second language. An important part of this acquisition occurs through lexical inference. Research in applied linguistics shows that lexical inference, even if it exists, does not necessarily guarantee that the word whose meaning has been inferences will be retained in the end, that is to say in the long term (Pulido, 2007; Nassaji, 2003 ; 2006).
