UPAYA RECEP TAYYIP ERDOGAN DALAM MENTRANSFORMASI SISTEM SEKULARISME TURKI MENUJU ISLAMISME

This study discuses the efforts made by Recep Tayyip Erdogan in transforming the Turkish secularism system into Islamism from 2003 to 2020 and to describe the development of Islamism in Turkey under Erdogan. The research method used by the author is a type of qualitative research using a descriptive research model. This study uses comparative concept of secularism and Islamism. The result of this study found that the efforts made by Erdogan transforming Turkey with the principles of Islamism were divided into two aspect of implementing policy transformation, namely socio-cultural aspect, and political and economic aspect. In the socio-cultural aspect, Erdogan made several transformations by lifting the hijab ban, changing the status of Hagia Sophia, banning the use of Latin in the pronunciation of the call to prayer and the Koran, and reforming the education system. As for the political and economic aspect, Erdogan has transformed the party system by establishing the AKP, changing the role of the military and the government, establishing a sharia financial financial and banking system, and imposing a special consumption tax on alcohol
