INTENTO DE DEPREDACIÓN SOBRE EPTESICUS FURINALIS (FAMILIA: VESPERTILIONIDAE) POR PHYLLOSTOMUS DISCOLOR (FAMILIA: PHYLLOSTOMIDAE; SUBFAMILIA: PHYLLOSTOMINAE) EN LA REPÚBLICA DE PANAMÁ

A predation event between the bat species Eptesicus furinalis and Phyllostomus discolor in eastern Panama is reported. This event was recorded using the mist-nets method in the Mamoní Valley biodiversity project. This is the first observed case of P.discolor predating a bat. This record contributes to the knowledge about the diet of bats in the predator-prey relationship for the region of Panama.Se reporta un evento de depredación entre las especies de murciélagos Eptesicus furinalis y Phyllostomus discolor en el este de Panamá. Evento que se registra mediante el método de redes de niebla en el proyecto de biodiversidad del Valle Mamoní. Este es el primer caso observado de Phyllostomus discolor depredando otro murciélago. Este registro contribuye al conocimiento sobre la dieta de los murciélagos en la relación depredador-presa para la región de Panamá
