In addition to the now-classic FRP composite materials (Fibre Reinforced Polymer), made with long fibers of glass, carbon or aramid imbedded in polymer matrices (such as epoxy resins), the use of FRCM composites (Fibre Reinforced Cementitious Matrix) is becoming more and more popular. In spite of their wide diffusion, the constitutive laws of these materials are not adequately studied as well as the failure mechanisms.
