Prijevod s komentarima s naglaskom na ciljnu publiku

This thesis comprises five translations with commentary. Excerpts from three books were translated from English into Croatian (The Establishment and How They Get Away with It by Owen Jones, Making Minds: What's Wrong with Education, and What Should We Do about It? by Paul Kelley and Reclaiming conversation: The power of talk in a digital age by Sherry Turkle), and two from Croatian into English (Ekološki otisak: Kako je razvoj zgazio održivost by Dražen Šimleša and Iran u prezentu by Ivan Đogić). The commentary focused on the target audience and language. While solving translation problems, a special emphasis was put on the translation of culturally specific items with which the target audience might be unfamiliar and enhancing their reading experience.Rad se sastoji od pet prijevoda popraćenih komentarima. Ulomci iz triju knjiga prevedeni su s engleskoga jezika na hrvastki (The Establishment and How They Get Away with It, Owen Jones; Making Minds: What's Wrong with Education, and What Should We Do about It?, Paul Kelley i Reclaiming conversation: The power of talk in a digital age by Sherry Turkle), a dviju s hrvatskoga na engleski jezik (Ekološki otisak: Kako je razvoj zgazio održivost by Dražen Šimleša and Iran u prezentu by Ivan Đogić).Komentari su usmjereni na ciljni jezik i publiku. U komentarima je posebna pozornost posvećena upoznavanju publike s iz drugih kultura s kojima nije upoznata te poboljšavanje iskustva čitanja
