Experimental CL lesion development or swelling of right footpad (FP) in <i>Leishmania major</i> (2×10⁶ metacyclic promastigotes) infected BALB/c mice before and after NAIs therapy (after the end of treatment, five mice from each group were randomly selected).

The CL lesion size was reported using a metric caliper tool by measuring the increase in right infected FP thickness/width from 1 to 6 weeks p.i. The results of one out of three independent experiments are shown, all presenting similar outcomes. Results are elucidated as the mean ± SE and student t-test was used for statistical analysis (*P **P ***P < 0.001).
