DERAJAT GERIGI GERAM (DOS) HASIL PEMBUBUTAN ST 41 DAN ST 60 DENGAN VARIASI KOMPOSISI JATROPHA CURCAS DAN CRUDE PALM OIL SEBAGAI LUBRICANT

The increase in the number of human populations and the rapid growth of industry lead to greater energy consumption. Development of alternative power with the use of bio-oil. Bio-oil is one of the types of vegetable oil, namely fence castor oil (Jatropha curcas L.) and palm fruit oil (Elaeis Guineensis.). From the above considerations, this study aims to determine the influence of variations in the composition of castor oil coolants and palm oil on the degree of serration (dos). The results showed that the use of jatropha curcas oil by mixing crude palm oil as cuttingfluid process of machining ST 41 steel and ST 60 steel with a speed of 790 rpm produced the highest DoS for ST 41 steel is found at 80% JCO and 20% CPO with a value of 0.176. While the lowest Dos value data at 20% JCO and 80% CPO is with a value of 0.55. For ST 60 steel is found at 80% JCO and 20% CPO with a value of 0.137. While the lowest Dos value data at 20% JCO and 80% CPO is with a value of 0.45
