PENGARUH VARIASI MINYAK JARAK TERHADAP SURFACE ROUGHNESS DAN TEMPERATUR PEMESINAN BAJA ST41 DENGAN PAHAT CARBIDA

Recently the development of science and technology increases rapidly. Jatropha Curcas L is a comes from nature renewable energy sources. The advantages of using lubricant in conventional cutting, health, have recently been questioned lately due to negative impacts such as deterioration, environmental pollution and costs. Several alternatives have been found, one of which is the use of vegetable oils to replace conventional cutting lubricant. The study was conducted by varying the use of jatropha oil and dromus oil. Each is emulsified with water. The test conducted is surface smoothness and surface temperature during the lathe process. The results of this study indicate that the use of jatropha oil has no significant effect on surface smoothness and machining temperature of ST41 lathe with carbide chisels because the data obtained were 3,331 µm and 30,54⁰ C
