Although the dose connection of music and feeling is undisputed and increasingly emphasized in present music pedagogy, the emotional aspect in traditional studies of music seems to be of minor importance. For adequate consideration of the emotional aspect 4 pre-conditions of aesthetic perception and creative work must be observed: 1. the ability of the so-called experience by intuition, that is identification with the percepted object, dissolving all emotional distance, 2. the ability of the so-called "Regression im Dienste des Ich", 3. to experience music as a way of mastering life, 4. to experience music as a way of gaining knowledge of one\u27s self which can only imperfectly be expressed in words.
